It is at the heart of our curriculum as we believe it is important to develop the ‘whole’ child, spiritually, morally, intellectually and socially. PSHE education helps children to become responsible members of society and have a greater awareness of issues affecting the world today, such as sustainability. It teaches children how to stay safe and equips them with strategies to recognise unsafe situations and seek help when necessary. PSHE aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, and tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.

PSHE is taught using the SCARF (Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship) scheme of work. Every lesson is mapped to the PSHE Association Programme of Study. The curriculum is broken down into six strands, with one theme being taught each term.
